THIS EVENT IS AIMED AT SCHOOL STUDENTS AND THEIR TEACHERS
As part of the German Screen Studies Network (GSSN), the German Department at Queen Mary University of London offers an interactive film studies afternoon focussing on Victoria (2015), a film by young German director Sebastian Schipper.
In the run up to this, we invite enrolled participants to join our German Film Club which shows a selection of mainly recent releases by young German directors. It takes place on Tuesdays 6pm at Queen Mary University of London, Mile End Campus, Arts One Building, Hitchcock Cinema.

For the main event on 1st March 2017 we offer an interactive workshop for up to 40 participants, centred on the film Victoria (2015), a ‘kinetic, frenetic, sense-swamping rollercoaster ride’ (Hollywood Reporter), ‘suffused with a surprising degree of grace and emotional authenticity’ (Variety).
The film received the awards for → Best Feature Film, → Direction, →Actress in Leading Role, →Actor in Leading Role, →Cinematography and →Music at the German Film Awards 2015.
